In this blog, we'll discuss some of the more unique and interesting things that beekeepers run into in their quest to master the craft of beekeeping!!

In this blog, we look at some of the things you don't know you don't know about bees and beekeeping challenges!!!  So, did you know:

  1. You need to feed bees!!
  2. The Queen bee doesn't really make any decisions, she's told what to do by the workers.
  3. A colony is a lot like a city (like LA!!) and has the same challenges with labor force and work load.
  4. There are only a few things you need to pay attention to in the hive to keep the bees in the boxes.
  5. Bees have ticks (and they're a really big problem here)
  6. They have systems a lot like us, for breathing, digesting, locomotion, and sensing stuff.
  7. The colony is made up of all females (the males are there to mate only).
  8. You don't need every piece of equipment in the catalogs to keep bees properly

  10. Swarms are a way to make more bees - you should love them not hate them!!!
